No Fail Laundry and Cleaning Routine + Printable

My personal laundry and cleaning hacks that save me so much stress!

After having my 4th boy in December 2017, I knew I had to figure out a way to be organized with the massive amounts of laundry and cleaning that would have to get accomplished on a weekly basis. So, I decided to break it all down into daily loads... literally! Each day is assigned to a different person in our house, we happen to have 6 people and then I use the 7th day for the towels and sheets.  You can customize your own routine by figuring out how many people you have and which days you want to do their specific wash.  Here is the example I have:

The secret is this... Having only ONE laundry bucket and yes, I said bucket, not basket.  You can use a basket, but I use this one and I've had it for 5 years now.  It has stayed in great condition so it was worth the cost to me but I'm sure you can use whatever bucket or basket that you prefer.  I do use a different laundry basket for the towels and sheets because everyone uses it to put their dirty towels and sheets into.  But for the individual laundry days, the one bucket works great for everyone because the goal is to have it emptied by the end of the day so the next person can dump their laundry into it, and you just keep that pattern each day of the week. Focus on one person a day to wash, dry, fold and put away then it's ready for the next person.  Is there a day where someone needs something washed before their day, throw it into the person that has that day.  It's not going to be perfect, but I will tell you, if you stay on this one bucket and on person a day routine, you won't fail.

Now for my cleaning hack, pretty similar where I break it all down into the rooms of my home and the days of the week.  Also listed on the example.

Again, these are just my laundry and cleaning hacks that work for our family, but I thought I would share if you're struggling to keep up on all the things which I think it's safe to say so many of us are.  Of course, there are more things to clean in each room or one room will need attention that isn't on that day but for the most part the house feels kept up with having this routine, I hope it can help you.
