No additives, no preservatives and no ingredients you can't pronounce!  Make a batch of these tasty Smart Bars and pack your afternoon snack with wholesome goodness from your own kitchen.

*2 Cups quick-cooking oats

*1 Cup packed brown sugar

*1/3 Cup vegetable oil

*3 tablespoons applesauce

*2 egg whites

*1/4 teaspoon salt

*1/2 teaspoon almond extract

*1/2 cup raisins (I use craisens or you can use chocolate chips)

Preheat over to 325 degrees.  Spray a 9x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.  In a bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, oil and applesauce.  Beat egg whites until frothy; add to mixture.  Stir in salt, almond extract and raisins (or whatever you choose).  Bake for 30 minutes.  Remove from oven, cool and cut into bars.  Makes 24 bars.
