Sarah’s Country Barn in Ontario!

Cute shop and classes offered!

By Courtney King. SAHM March 23, 2022

Sarah's Country Barn is a cute shop and creative space located at 2001 Ridge Road in Ontario, NY. She partners with local vendors to sell everything from dog bandanas to hand painted signs to spices and body scrubs . There is something for everyone. In addition to her front retail space, she hosts classes in a private back room.

I. Love. Doing. Crafts. However, often my LOVE of crafts superceeds my ABILITY to do crafts and the end result resembles something more like a pinterest fail than something worthy of display. But, with Sarah's high quality materials and helpful guidance there was no way to fail.

In my four person class, the other three ladies were friends and coworkers. Even though I wasn't part of their group we all had a great time together. Class participants can sign up for a public class or book a private party. Either way, classes are small and intimate, often less than seven people. Sarah pointed out one benefit of booking a private party is the ability to bring in your own beverages. Macaroni Kid subscribers can enter a drawing for the chance to win 25% off of a private candle making class for you and 3 friends in April or May.  Enter to win here

Sarah and Erin took us through the steps to make a beautiful spring-themed door hanger. This same class can be taken multiple times as class materials change with the seasons. Sarah showed us how to stain, paint, and lay out our board. She even offered her hands when it came time to do the tricky gluing. Erin swooped in when it came time to do the bows and floral work. She is a bow guru. We learned that the key to a beautiful arrangement is globs and globs of hot glue. A little dab won't do you this time.

Classes are on-going and Sarah is open to new ideas if you have something you'd like to do. In addition to Sarah's crafting classes, her vendors also offer a pie making class and a natural cleaning products class. All the information is on her website https://www.sarahs-country-barn.com You can browse classes, reserve a spot, preview her retail vendors, and send her questions.

I really enjoyed taking this class and I love the final product. It is amazing to see what can be accomplished in a few *kid free* hours. Be sure to check out Sarah's Country Barn next time you are in Ontario.
