Find your Family Fun in Oswego

By Kelly Zaryk, Publisher and Editor of Macaroni Kid Eastside of Rochester June 28, 2023

We had 24 hours to squeeze in a family fun getaway and we found it in Oswego, NY!

The car ride wasn't bad at all, right down 104 just a little over an hour away.

Our first stop was the Childrens Museum of Oswego..

First thing we walked into was a huge water station that the kids ran to...

We even had a surprise appearance from one child that came through the ceiling lol...

The second floor had a ton of different activities divided out into different themed areas...

My boys loved this putting out the fire station, for reference my boys are ages 5-13!

Once we pulled them from the museum there was a unique candy store around the corner, we had to check out called Snax.  They each found something they could never find in any regular store.

Then we headed across the river...1 minute drive away to our hotel room that overlooked the Oswego harbor, couldn't get enough of the views.  There are two main hotels on that harbor side, Best Western Inn and Conference Center and the Clarion which is connected right to the new Splash Indoor Waterpark.

We went out to an early dinner at Steamers which was inside the Clarion and had some nice outside seating

Beautiful sunset from out hotel room...

We were the first ones in line for their Grand Opening Day!

What a fun experience for us to be one of the first families there to celebrate Splash Indoor Waterpark's Grand opening day!  This Giant Bucket of Water was a hit with my boys, they were so excited every time the noise machine signaled it was going to dump!

We headed up to arcade on the 2nd floor and they found so many fun games to play and prizes to win!

The 3rd floor had a nice eating area...

My boys are suckers for a good slushy!  The games were a nice feature while they waited for the food too!

No worries if you forget anything, a gift shop right on site with all the essentials...

Now they have shirts to remember this fun experience!

I'm still shocked this was so close to home and we made the most of our quick trip and found so many fun things to do in this area to keep the boys entertained.
