Today we had the chance to visit with Lisa McCombs at Heartfelt Designs in Bloomfield, NY. Lisa is the creative force behind The Artful Fairy Shop. She has been bringing baby elves to homes for the past three years. We first met Lisa in 2021 when we adopted our baby elf, Rosie, at an event at AE Boutique in Victor, NY. My daughter has enjoyed playing with Rosie and she has become part of our holiday tradition. My daughter was thrilled that Lisa remembered us and that we were able to adopt another elf, Violet today.
Baby elves are extremely well behaved and do not get into any “mischief.” Unlike an Elf on a Shelf, children are encouraged to feed, play, and interact with their baby. Each elf comes with a bottle, reindeer toy, blanket, and an adoption certificate from Santa. Although families can choose to keep their elves year round, our Rosie ventures to the North Pole on Christmas Eve each year with our Elf on a Shelf and returns after Thanksgiving.
Each fall, Lisa hosts pop up adoption events at local boutiques. She provides each child with advice on how to care for their baby elf. Children are able to select their elf and any accessories they may desire. Lisa has custom designed cribs, sleeping bags, sleighs, and slides to encourage creative play.
