Looking for a fun day trip idea? We took a 45-minute drive out to Stanley, NY located between Canandaigua and Seneca lakes. Pick'n Patch has a large Field of Fun activities. From the unique pumpkins to the apple cannons to the apple cider slushees, there is something for everyone.
My favorite attractions were the giant slide and the sunflower fields. The slide brought me back to my childhood and I was so happy racing my kids down and flying over the bumps. The sunflower fields were more expansive than I could have ever imagined! There were cute photo-op areas set up throughout the path and the sunflower varieties kept me smiling during our entire walk.
My husband enjoyed the hand pump duck races and the speed pitch area where he and my oldest could compare their pitches on the radar. My younger kids loved feeding the goats, jumping on the giant pillow, competing on the low ropes course, eating tacos and kettle corn, riding the train, and burying themselves in the corn box. I have to admit, I really enjoyed walking through the corn box as well! It felt great on my feet and since it is under a tent, it was the perfect spot to wait out the short rain shower.
While many outdoor play areas cater to younger kids, Pick'n Patch does a great job of providing engaging activities to the entire family. My teenager smiled and laughed as he raced his siblings on the giant tricycles, beat me in tetherball, and got dragged along the ground in the tug 'o war competition against his dad. We ALL laughed during our epic 'kids vs parents' tug 'o war battle. At 4 vs 2 it was a tough competition but I'm happy to report that the parents won!
Pick'n Patch has so much to offer there is no way I could list it all, but here are a few more highlights:
*NICE bathrooms located in the front AND the back of the park
*Cute market up front with fall-themed snacks and merchandise
*Pay-your-way apple and flower picking
*Giant Luke Bryan shaped corn maze with various 'cheat levels' if you don't want to walk through blindly
*After five hours of playing, everyone went right to bed!
*Ending the day with a mama heart full and overflowing because we had a beautiful day together making memories
At less than an hour away, Pick'n Patch is the perfect family destination for some weekend fun.
